Describe symbolism in A Complicated Kindness: A Novel by Miriam Toews

In Chapters Nine and Ten, Nomi's thoughts become increasingly random. She jumps from one topic to another sporadically, and then back to the present in almost confusing rapidity. This symbolizes the rapidly increasing confusion in Nomi's mind, as the more she searches for answers, the more confused she becomes.
