What kind of reception does Alex get from his parents?

Alex gets a rather harsh reception from his parents. Joe, who is renting out Alex's old room, gives him a particularly hard line about the crimes he has done and the suffering he has caused. Since Alex's parents can't just kick Joe out, Alex must find a place to stay elsewhere.
