Viserys Targaryen from A Clash of Kings is has already died before the events of this novel take place. He was the brother of Daenerys Targaryen and was a weak and cruel individual. He sold his sister to a Dothraki warlord so that he could get the men he needed to presumably take back Kings Landing. But his continued insults to Daenerys and to the War Lord earned him a golden crown of molten gold poured over his head.
