Roose Bolton from A Clash of Kings is a bannerman for Winterfell. He is given Harranhal to keep and to hold the north. He doesn't recognize Arya, but makes her his cupbearer. He tells her that he's going to be leaving Harrenhal soon and will leave the day to day running of the castle to the Brave Companions. Hearing this, Arya decides to escape. The Brave Companions are neither brave nor companionable.
