Lord Theon Greyjoy from A Clash of Kings was a ward of the Starks, grew up with them for many years. Theon's family come from the Iron Kingdom where life is very rough. When he goes back to them, his own family do not believe that he is worthy to call himself a Greyjoy any longer. This hurts him deeply and he sets about to prove his worth. Unfortunately, he goes overboard making his family (especially his father) angry at him. His sister, Asha, has more respect and responsibilties than Theon does. Theon is captured later on and tortured mercilessly in the dungeons.
