Tyrion and Tysha in Clash of Kings, is a sad story. Tyrion, the dwarved son of Tywin Lannister (one of the most powerful noble families in the novel) fell in love with a tavern wench. He sneaked out and married her. When Tyrion's father found out he had the girl tortured and thrown out into the street. The marriage was anulled. Tyrion later finds out that Tysha was paid by his brother Jaime to make him happy. They never thought he'd go off and marry her.
