The Buddhist Crisis refers to the intense and unrelenting persecution of Buddhists in South Vietnam by the Diem administration. Cruel and brutal tactics were taken and unapologetic favoritism was shown toward South Vietnamese (or North Vietnamese refugees) that shared Diem's Catholic faith.
