The main conflict in the Story 300 is the one with the Persian's invading the Spartan homeland and the Spartans rushing to defend their homes. Leonidus only takes 300 spartans to fight seeing as it is a Spartan holiday and he was not allowed to take the whole fighting force. Persia has been expanding its boarders and finally came to Sparta and meets opposition.
