When she gets home from Nikki's beach house, Charlie is waiting for Kinsey, but she is not very happy to see him. She agrees to go to dinner with him. What happens at the Ranch House restaurant

At the restaurant, Charlie tries to put Kinsey in a better mood and get her to open up about the case. She does fill him in on some details, and she finds herself attracted to him again. He talks about his past, how hard it was for him, and about his dysfunctional family. He hated his father and did not respect his mother for staying with him.
