Explain this quotation " The culture we have does not make people feel good about themselves. And you have to be strong enough to say if the culture does not work, do not buy it." ?

In my opinion it means that today we are so much engrossed and imersed in the materialistic world that we are never satiated with ourselves and our accomplishments.

The person has to be strong enough to not to run in this rat race and enjoy the small or big accomplishments of oneself.
