What is the significance of the title "The Gift of the Magi"

The title, The Gift of the Magi, alludes to the gifts given by the three wise men to Jesus after his birth. Just as the wise men's gifts had deeper meanings, Jim and Della give each other gifts that illustrate the enormity of their love for one another.
