how does the change in hale change the readers perception

Over the course of the play, Hale becomes convinced that he was wrong regarding Proctor and mary Warren's innocence, and he realized that Abigail was, in fact, the liar. When he moves to the side of truth, the audience might come to sympathize with him.... forgive his error in judgment. The audience, does not, for the most part, come to respect Hale.... he simply gives in to the injustice rather than to fight against it.
