Is Hamlet mad (crazy) or just playing the part?

I'd have to say a bit of both. Much of his bizarre behavior is saved for certain characters. We can see that he is acting, presenting a false face. At other times, however, particularly in regard to Ophelia, his insanity seems to be real..... such cruelty from a man who claims to want justice?
