In Act II, why does Kate tell Chris that Ann “doesn’t belong here”?

Kate tells Chris that Ann doesn't belong there because she still believes Larry (her missing son) is alive, and that Ann should be waiting for his return. She knows that Ann has come to marry Chris, and therefore, she wants Ann to leave.
