In the movie Gattaca, what happened to the baby's blood sample?

The baby's blood sample is analyzed, and the baby's future life is revealed by the analyzation. Thus, it is known from the beginning that the infant (Vincent) suffers from a heart ailment and will die in his early thirties, 30.2 years to be exact.
