How does David Hume define a good art critic?
.
.
According to Hume, a good critic must be able to ascertain the qualities of the artwork and be able to elucidate their contributions to the piece as a whole. Critics must also practice and develop their skills in judging art by gathering information and expanding their experience in critiquing art. By doing so, they become informed, and they are better able to provide viewers with accurate opinions. A good critic must also possess the ability to compare artwork.
